Inspired by Jessica McGlory, who in 2019 posted on LinkedIn about opening her calendar in a similar way to help others, Kate Huyett (Chief Marketing Officer, Bombas) & Tyler Pietri (Product Manager, Klaviyo), Co-Founders decided in June 2020 to create a network of professionals (1000 and growing) who were committed to creating access for Black individuals in the startup and marketing space. They also added a jobs tab of companies that are confirmed to be currently hiring to make sure those opportunities are visible to Black individuals.

Equality Can’t Wait is an initiative launched by Pivotal Ventures to accelerate progress toward gender equality in the U.S. The Equality Can’t Wait Challenge, with additional support from MacKenzie Scott and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, will award $40 million to the organizations or coalitions of organizations with the most compelling proposals to help expand women’s power and influence in the U.S. by 2030.
