Super Bowl Champion Brandon Mebane transformed his championship mindset from the football field into entrepreneurial success, founding Football IQ to develop the next generation of athletes while building a legacy that extends far beyond his Top 50 Seahawks recognition.
Mebane says “At Football IQ, we redefine football education by combining advanced film analysis, real-time feedback, and personalized coaching into a comprehensive training experience. Whether through in-person sessions, digital meet-ups, or mentorship, we provide athletes, parents, and fans with unparalleled insight into the game, making football knowledge accessible to all.”
Brandon Mebane’s journey is one of perseverance and passion. Drafted in the third round from UC Berkeley, he struggled to grasp the game’s intricacies, particularly in explaining defensive strategies. Natural talent wasn’t enough—his coaches warned he had to improve or lose his spot. Determined, he sought help from his Super Bowl-winning position coach.
Early morning film study and extra training transformed his approach. By preseason’s end, he climbed from third-string to a starting role by Week 6, stepping up when injuries sidelined teammates. In his first start with the Seattle Seahawks, he made an immediate impact with a tackle for loss on the opening play, solidifying his place.
His longevity in the NFL stemmed from mastering film study, a skill he now teaches through his company, Football IQ. Coaching players from high school to the pros, he helps them anticipate plays, react faster, and elevate their game. Find out more here.
